Candid Moments… For When You Need a Little Jesus

Candid Moments

Heather planned on getting 4 days’ worth of work done that morning, in between basketball practice, grocery shopping, and dentist appointments. The mid-morning phone call wasn’t unusual, but it stopped her in her tracks.

A storm was coming, and her husband had left a few things in the backyard that couldn’t weather the storm. As she glanced out the window, it was more than a tool here and there that needed her attention. The kids’ toys lay scattered over the yard as well.

Of course, she would pick them up. She didn’t even think twice about it. Grey clouds hovered overhead as she set about her task, finishing her new assignment before the first raindrops hit.

Coming back inside, the phone rang again. Someone else needed something only she could do and she was never going to get everything done. Hanging up the phone, she glanced over at the table where her Bible still lay open from her quiet time that morning and wondered, “How can the Gospel fix this?”

And in that moment, Candid Moments was born.

Candid Moments... for when you need a little Jesus.

Candid Moments… For When You Need A Little Jesus

Candid Moments are brief, audio devotionals designed to encourage you in those moments when you just need a little Jesus to calm the storm.

Because we all face storms in life.

We all get stressed out and overwhelmed.

We all have bad days.

Just as a single raindrop can lead to a flood, so it is with our thought life. But what if we stop the rain before it washes us away?

That’s our hope with Candid Moments. To help you focus on Jesus and keep your eyes above the waves.

Valerie will be recording most of the devotions while Heather does all the technical stuff that makes Valerie’s brain blow up. However, some of the other Candid Gals will be contributing as well.

The first devotional released today. Check it out:

Every day, every hour, every minute, we have a choice: allow life’s grey clouds to dampen the whole day, or pray “Jesus, how can You fix this?” Heather and I pray that Candid Moments will bring whispers of encouragement to you that God is God and Jesus is there in every moment.

By the way, did you know we also have a private Facebook group for Christian women?

It’s called Candid Conversations.

We created it when we released our first anthology back in 2018. It’s designed so women have a safe place to be candid online. A place for candid conversations if you will. Anyway, we’ll be sharing these devotionals in that group as well. You can join us here.

I love this candid moment. In just a couple of minutes, I was able to visualize Peter & Jesus in the storm, and wake up the reminder that if I simply put my eyes on Jesus, He will help me through any storm. Thanks ladies.

Thanks, Wendy! I’m so glad you could see it in your mind as though it were real. That’s what I’m really hoping for when I speak or read scripture.
