My Crazy Life Isn’t Always Exciting, But Life Goes On

| November 1, 2018
Life goes on

Life as a mother of four is rarely dull, but sometimes it’s less than noteworthy. That’s the kind of week I’ve had.

Yes, we are constantly on the go and there a million things going on, but none of them are really worth writing about.

I have no riveting tales to share.

And too often, that’s what real life looks like.

A Day In The Life

Our world has been pretty hectic lately.

Between eye-doctor appointments, a sports injury, and my migraines acting up again, we have been to the doctor more times than I can count. But life goes on.

Between play practice, cross country, and band I have used more gas driving to and from the school than I know what to do with. But… life goes on.

I wonder… How many of you can relate?

Have you ever just been taking life one step at a time?

It seems like we are constantly on the go, but at the same time, it’s really nothing special.

That’s where I find myself today anyways.

So much to do, but nothing really worth writing about.

But then there is Jesus, right there in the middle of it all.

Reminding me that even in the small stuff, He is there.

Give Me Jesus

He is there when I make the 6th trip up to the school that day because someone forgot their socks (true story), someone else needed pants (also true story, same day – and, no, I didn’t ask…), schools out, football practice ended, and play practice was over and all these children need rides (and clothes apparently).

Jesus is with me when my kids get in trouble at school and I feel like a horrible mom.

Jesus is with me when my son gets hurt and I’m not there.

He is there when my head hurts.

He is there when I feel like I’m not enough.

No matter what life throws my way, I can face it because of Jesus.

Even if it’s just regular every day stuff.

Stuff that’s not worth writing about.

Because life goes on, it may be hard, but God is always good.

Life Goes On

So what about you. Where does life find you today? Has it been especially noteworthy recently, or just pretty everyday ordinary? Join the conversation in the comments below.

I can’t believe you went to the school 6 times in one day! That’s crazy. I know what you mean though about life being busy but just average everyday things. Thanks for the reminder that Jesus is in all those everyday moments.

I should have let you know I have 4 kids, and my oldest son’s best friend makes 5. He lives out of town, so he spends a lot of time here waiting for a ride or grabbing a snack between events. And we love him like our own, so it’s all good. Ironically, yesterday was another one of those days. But I was only there 4 times. And the school came to me once. The secratary brought us our Cross Country shirts for the state meet. It’s great to live in a small town.

Thank you for the reminder today that Jesus is always there! I find myself trudging through the every day without much to write about, but it’s under a cloud of sadness. Even in that I know He is there. Thank you again for the reminder!

Today I am breathing a sigh of relief as I finally have my children back in school and my husband off to work so that I can work on catching up on all the things as we have been gone for a week and a half for my mother in law’s funeral. I’m grateful for the quietness.
